Colenso Ridgeon, a respected physician, has allocated exactly ten treatment units for seriously ill tuberculosis patients. With the help of a new drug, which only he can administer correctly, the physician has the power to save the lives of this hand-picked group. However, two "applicants" are vying for the last available place: the very talented, yet morally questionable painter Louis Dubedat, and Dr. Blenkinsop, a doctor fully committed to helping the poor. But who should Ridgeon include in his treatment programme, the genius or the benefactor? After a long and undeserved absence, George Bernard Shaw's brilliant conversational drama finally returns to the German stage. Uwe Eric Laufenberg plays the lead role in this new production directed by Tim Kramer.
