Drei Schwestern

Three Sisters
By Anton Chekhov
Performed in German

In a room in a house in a provincial town, three sisters, Olga, Masha, and Irina, wait for their lives to begin. This is the deceptively simple premise of Chekhov’s tragicomic masterpiece, »Three Sisters«. The play, which had its world premiere on 31 January 1901 at the Moscow Arts Theatre, is a sublime study of human longing, dealing with themes of happiness, disappointment and people's innate need to make things right again.

Uwe Eric Laufenberg directs this new production for the Wiesbaden stage.
