Dirk Weiler

Dirk Weiler studied acting, singing and dancing at the Folkwang University of the Arts, as well as in New York at the Manhattan School of Music, City College and Brooklyn College. In addition, he received acting training at New York's Expressions Studio. He lived and worked in New York from 1998 to 2008, then in London, after which he finally returned to Germany in 2009. Equally at home in spoken and musical theatre, he has performed numerous leading roles since his return to Germany, such as Dr. Siedler in "Im Weißen Rößl", Harald in "Ganz oder Gar Nicht", Bobby Child in "Crazy for You", Herod in "Jesus Christ Superstar", Anatoly in "Chess", Captain Ahab in "Moby Dick", Albin/ZaZa in "Ein Käfig voller Narren", Frommermann in "Comedian Harmonists", Roger De Bris in "The Producers", Frank Senior in "Catch Me If You Can", Joey in "Sister Act", Sewer Man in "Dear World", Max von Mayerling in "Sunset Boulevard", Captain J. E. Smith in "Titanic", Trofimov in "The Cherry Orchard", Otto in "The Elective Affinities", Feste in "Was Ihr Wollt", Herr Grün in "Ewig Jung", Jesus in "Don Camillo und Peppone", Herr Orgon in "Das Spiel von Liebe und Zufall", Bernhard in "Der Messias", Erzähler in "All das Schöne", Zauberkönig in "Geschichten aus dem Wiener Wald" and Lord Burleigh in "Maria Stuart". Dirk Weiler also works as a tap dance teacher, tap choreographer and director, and as voice-over artist for radio and advertising.

This season, he graces the Wiesbaden stage as Buddy in the new production of Stephen Sondheim's musical "Follies".
