Yusif Eyvazov

Dramatic tenor Yusif Eyvazov enjoys a thriving international performing career. Additionally, he now serves as the Director of the Azerbaijan State Academic Opera and Ballet Theater in his home country, where he also holds the title of “People’s Artist of Azerbaijan.” Yusifis a regular guest at some of the world's most renowned opera houses, including Teatro alla Scala, Vienna State Opera, Teatro Real in Madrid, Berlin State Opera, Royal Opera House in London, Paris National Opera, Liceu Opera and The Metropolitan Opera, among others. He has appeared on numerous recordings for Deutsche Grammophon, including a complete recording of Puccini’s "Manon Lescaut" live from the Salzburg Festival and on the cross-over album "Romanza" with soprano Anna Netrebko.

Yusif Eyvazov began the 2023/24 opera season starring as Radamès in Barry Kosky’s new production of "Aida" at Berlin’s Staatsoper Unter den Linden, where he also jumped in for the last performance of "Don Carlo". He then returned to the Vienna State Opera as Des Grieux ("Manon Lescaut"). He returns to one of his most celebrated roles – Calaf ("Turandot") – in 3 different productions: at the Teatro San Carlo, in Wiesbaden and in a new production at the Teatro alla Scala. Other opera engagements this season include Maurice ("Adriana Lecouvreur") at Paris Opera, Turiddu ("Cavalleria Rusticana") at the Opera Monte Carlo and Teatro alla Scala, Cavaradossi ("Tosca") at the Royal Opera House and Arena di Verona as well as a concert performance of "Il Trovatore" in Budapest. On the concert stage, Yusif will perform at the Wiener Konzerthaus, KKL Luzern, and Klassik am Dom in Linz, among others.
