In the two-part ballet evening "V/ertigo", the Hessian State Ballet explores extreme situations and themes of uncertainty. "Skid" exposes the dancers to the laws of gravity, somewhere between the desire to soar and the fear of falling, setting them in motion on a platform set at a 34 degree angle, plunged directly into the orchestra pit."Skid" is the Company's second collaboration with the exceptional Belgian choreographer Damien Jalet, the first being "Thr(o)ugh", which was nominated for the 2017 FAUST Theatre Prize. Dutch siblings Imre & Marne van Opstal are two of the rising stars of the current European dance scene."I'm afraid to forget your smile" explores the moment of letting go as a transitional state in the process of surrendering to loss; a moment both tangible and transient at the same time. The work features the involvement of choirs and is developed in close collaboration with the Ballet ensemble.
