David Bruwer

David Bruwer was born in South Africa and studied piano at the University of Cape Town (BMus Hons.) and the Royal Academy of Music in London, where he graduated with a first-class Master of Music degree in 2007. Since making his performance debut in South Africa at the age of 15, he has appeared in his home country and internationally as recitalist, concerto soloist, chamber musician and vocal accompanist.

Upon completing his postgraduate studies, David Bruwer focused on music management, concert production and project planning in an international artist agency in Cape Town, where he worked as artist manager for eight years. He relocated to Wiesbaden in 2014, initially taking up a position as Assistant Director/ Revival Director at the Hessisches Staatstheater, working on new productions such as "Katya Kabanova", "Die Zauberflöte", "Peter Grimes" and "Arabella", and revivals including "Madama Butterfly", "La Bohème", "Le nozze di Figaro", "Die Frau ohne Schatten" and "Hänsel und Gretel".

David joined the PR / Marketing department as Online Editor and Media Consultant in early 2019, where he is responsible for the theatre's online presence, including the website and all social media platforms, as well as in-house graphic design.
