Feras Zarka

Feras Zarka was born in Aleppo, Syria, where he already performed in various theatre groups during his school years. After graduating from high school, he completed a business training course at Aleppo's commercial institute and became employed by the state-owned telephone company. At the same time, he founded theatre groups, in which he performed himself, focusing on pieces working with a narrative of emotions, movement and imagery. In 2013, Zarka decided to flee from Aleppo, finally reaching Germany in 2015 after two and a half years of travel. He established contact wih the Wiesbaden State Theatre through a German language course, presented by actors from the dramatic ensemble. At the end of 2016, Zarka also appeared in the Wiesbaden theatre project "Fluchtpunkt", performing in the piece "Arche 2.0". This season, he performs the role of the Syrian in Søren Nils Eichberg's new opera "Schönerland".
