Keith Bernard Stonum

American tenor Keith Bernard Stonum studied at the University of Performing Arts in Frankfurt. In 2013, he appeared as Don Ottavio under Bruno Weil as part of a production of the Jungen Oper Schloss Weikersheim, and in the same year he sang the role of Otto in "Adelasia ed Aleramo" (Johann Simon Mayr) at the Prinzregententheater in Münich under Andreas Spering. His concert repertoire includes Mendelssohn's oratorio "Paulus" and "Elias", Bach's "Winter Oratorio", Handel's "Messiah", as well as contemporary works such as Hans Zender's "Winterreise", which he sang at the 2014 Athens Festival under Teodor Currentzis. Keith Stonum was a member of the Cologne International Opera Studio from 2014 to 2016, appearing in roles such as Freddy in "My Fair Lady" and Male Chorus in "The Rape of Lucretia". As a scholarship holder of the opera studio, he also appeared as guest at Theater Aachen, where he sang the roles of Pedrillo ("Entführung aus dem Serail"), and Vasek ("Die verkaufte Braut"). During the 2016/17 season, he appeared at Schauspiel Frankfurt in "Sieben gegen Theben", as well as Pedrillo at Opéra de Toulon. This season, he makes his Wiesbaden debut as one of the 3 Men in Søren Nils Eichberg's new opera "Schönerland".
