Born in Düsseldorf in 1989, Mira Benser first appeared on stage at the age of 13 at Cologne's Comedia Theater. After graduating from high school in 2009, she completed a directing internship at the Wuppertal Theatre and gained her first film experience. At the end of 2010, she spent three months in New York, where she took acting classes, worked behind the camera on a few short film projects, and assisted a photographer duo. After initially enrolling for Costume Design at the HAW Hamburg, she later studied Drama at Leipzig's "Felix Mendelssohn Bartholdy" University of Music and Theatre from 2013 to 2017, and was part of the Drama Studio at the new Halle Theatre during the 2015/16 and 2016/17 seasons. Here, she appeared on stage as Snow White in "Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs", in the Rio Reiser vocal evening "Wann, wenn nicht jetzt?" and in Dostoyevsky's "Crime and Punishment". During this time, she worked with directors such as Matthias Brenner, Peter Dehler, Nick Hartnagel and Christian von Treskow, and regularly appeared in front of the camera in long and short film projects. She also did regular voice work for radio and TV. Mira Benser became a permanent member of the Drama ensemble at Staatstheater Wiesbaden at the start of the 2017/18 season.
