Catherine Foster is not only one of the greatest Brünnhildes of our time; she is also highly sought-after as Elektra. Driven by mad revenge, the daughter of the murdered King Agamemnon is one of the most formidable female characters in Richard Strauss' oeuvre. The other guest stars include Latvian bass-baritone Egils Silins as Elektra's brother Orest, Dalia Schaechter as Clytemnestra and Johanni van Oostrum as Chrysothemis. With this performance, conductor Marius Stieghost makes his Wiesbaden debut.
