Kammersänger Thomas de Vries has held permanent appointments in Cottbus, Oldenburg, Dortmund and Wiesbaden, performing roles such as Eugene Onegin, Don Giovanni, Count Almaviva ("Le nozze di Figaro"), Germont ("La traviata"), Bartolo ("Il barbiere di Siviglia"), Kurnewal ("Tristan und Isolde") and Telramund ("Lohengrin"). Guest engagements have taken him to the Komische Oper Berlin, Mannheim, Düsseldorf, Heidelberg and Cagliari, Italy, amongst others. He is the director of Ensemble Mattiacis, which performs annually at the International May Festival in Wiesbaden. Since 2015, his roles in Wiesbaden have included Telramund (tour to South Korea), Rangoni ("Boris Godunov"), Alberich ("Das Rheingold", "Siegfried" and "Götterdämmerung"), Biterolf ("Tannhäuser"), Beckmesser ("Die Meistersinger von Nürnberg"), Peter Besenbinder ("Hänsel und Gretel"), Jochanaan ("Salome"), Balstrode ("Peter Grimes"), Don Carlos ("La forza del destino"), Don Alfonso ("Così fan tutte"), Count Monterone ("Rigoletto"), Count Almaviva and Faninal ("Der Rosenkavalier"). This season, Thomas de Vries will grace the stage as Bartolo in the new production of "Il barbiere di Siviglia", and will also reprise his roles as Peter Besenbinder, Count Monterone and Alberich.
