Mikhail Biryukov

Russian bass-baritone Mikhail Biryukov is a graduate of the Galina Vishnevskaya Opera Centre in Moscow, where he sang many important roles between 2013 and 2016, including Méphisto in "Faust", Leporello and Don Giovanni, Escamillo in "Carmen", Colline in "La bohème", Gremin in "Eugene Onegin", amongst others. He has been a postgraduate student at the Royal College of Music Opera Studio in London since 2020. He joined the Wiesbaden ensemble in the 2022/2023 season and has since sung roles such as Monterone in "Rigoletto", Surin in "Pique Dame", Hans Schwarz in "Die Meistersinger von Nürnberg", Jimmy's father in the world premiere of "Oryx and Crake" as well as several roles in the Janáček double project "The Makropulos Affair" / "House of the Dead" for the opening of the 2023 International May Festival.
