Born in Belgium, Thomas Blondelle studied singing in Bruges, followed by first engagements in Luxemburg, Antwerp, Braunschweig and Toulon. He has been an ensemble member at the Deutsche Oper in Berlin since 2009, singing roles such as Tamino (“Die Zauberflöte”), Walther (“Tannhäuser”), Prince (“The Love for Three Oranges”), Pelléas (“Pelléas et Mélisande”), Male Chorus (“Rape of Lucretia) and Uncle/Stranger in the world premiere of Aribert Reimanns "L’Invisible". Other notable appearances include Erik (“Der fliegende Holländer”) in Strasbourg and Stuttgart, his first Drum Major (“Wozzeck”) in Glasgow and Max (“Der Freischütz”) in Stuttgart. He sang Herod ("Salome") in Luxembourg in 2016 and Belmonte at the Oper Frankfurt in 2017. Previous performances in Wiesbaden include title roles in "Der Graf von Luxemburg", "Candide", "Idomeneo" and "La clemenza di Tito", as well as Erik, Loge, Belmonte, Lenski, Don José ("Carmen") an Matteo ("Arabella").
He returns to Wiesbaden during the 2022/23 season as Danilo in a new production of "Die lustige Witwe".
