Born in Rio de Janeiro, Gustavo Quaresma studied in his city of birth, as well as São Paulo and Frankfurt. As a member of the Cologne opera studio, he sang roles such as Prince Ramiro (“La Cenerentola”), Lucano (“L'incoronazione di Poppea”) and Telemaco (“Il ritorno d'Ulisse in patria”). He has guested at the opera houses in Frankfurt, Monte Carlo, St. Moritz, Klosterneuburg (Duke of Mantua in “Rigoletto”), Budapest (“Die Zauberflöte” under Iván Fischer) and the festivals in Montepulciano and Bad Wildbad. Previous roles in Wiesbaden include Almaviva (“Il barbiere di Siviglia”),Young Count ("Die Soldaten"), Fenton ("Falstaff"), David ("Die Meistersinger von Nürnberg") and Italian Singer ("Der Rosenkavalier").
